Petey (not real name) feels far more affection for the person within the transporter than he does for Flask. Not surprising, since his falling out with Flask – his disgust over her actions to attempt to cruelly wipe out a city (irrespective, by the way, of how cruel many of the Topsiders themselves were to THEM).As I once said: “Torn between two lovers, a cat and a truck.” The truck wins.
This all makes sense. Obviously Flask and Petey had a close relationship before, but all he retains of that is the name “Blackie”. He had a life, such as it was, as a PT, and that is the only past he really knows. I’ve always gravitated toward the father/daughter relationship because of Petey’s obvious maturity against Flask’s childish tantrums, but until Aaron chooses to let the cat out of the bag (bad pun very much intended!) we will never know for sure.
Interesting development to say the least. Aaron has thrown a little of the romantic element into the story, along with the traditional triangle. But in this case it’s Cat loves robot, robot loves truck.
I wish that there were some Endtown stickers or something to decorate my laptop. It’d be nice to have Holly & Wally next to the other stickers that adorn the case…Oooh, or buttons…
Personally, I just love Wally’s expression in panel 2. He really seems slightly weirded out by the whole situation.
I do, however agree with Dof3, we could really use a few more Petey-esque robots around ala Mallard. (Hey, if they can commandeer this flying salvage bin (aka resource stockpile) and cart it back to Endtown, I don’t see any reason why Mallard can’t whip up some sort of anti-satellite missile system, or something like that, but I’m speculating again.)
Aaron, I received the booklets yesterday and they are indeed as great as everyone has said. My son was especially thrilled to get his copy. (Can’t imagine how you knew to include Holly’s smiling face in mine though…) ;-) Thanks again!
I just read my last nights comments. I can’t figure out what it means??/ I know I had taken my sleeping pill about one hour earlier. Wow, I appologise to all of you for that bunch of garble. Blessed BE

Now we see them all standing together: Flask is tall. Wally, Holly, Petey and Linda are all short. She must feel like Dorothy in Munchkinland.

Flask has regained her voice, but I’m not sure if the rest of her is back on line yet….

Yeah, I think Mallard needs to come up with another robot…;-)

DV-31265’s relationship with Petey explains why it was so easily convinced to help him and not the Topsiders.

Yeah, Koalinda in the last panel is even looking at Flask as if to say, “What’s with her? Is she really that clueless??”

PETEY and DV-31265 are communicating by some kind of machine link (radio?) even though PETEY is vocalizing out loud. I don’t think the others hear DV.

Flask’s “arrogance switch” has flipped back on. She’s being sincere.
