Worse problem coming. Apex soldiers have set up Wally so that he will kill the teacher. But they can’t leave it at that. There’s no way they would think he will calmly carry on serving with the Apex team and keep his mouth shut. He will have to be silenced, as well as the teacher. The sooner Wally works that out, the better his chance of survival. They will be expecting to eliminate him, as soon as they have the satisfactoin of letting him see what he has done. In that small and unnecessarily sadistic window of opportunity lies Wally’s only chance of escape. We know he will escape, but with how much pain?Doggone you, Mr Neathery.
Flask considers Wally to be a very talented agent. She wouldn’t get that impression from just that one operation. I think Wally’s career in her outfit and “following orders” is just beginning.
I wonder if Wally and Flask end up unconscious somehow during this raid and the “rebels” set off some sort of Amesworth Radiation producing device. Or maybe, they’re working on research on the radiation, and a sample is released during the raid or something…
Yeah, I too doubt Wally was ordered to kill the teacher…..but he may have been involved in the “hail of bullets,” not knowing what or who was inside. The hail of bullets would serve the opposite effect of the one live round used in a firing squad. In the firing squad, one man has the bullet that kills, the others have blanks. Nobody knows who actually fired the killing shot and there’s a certain amount of deniability for the squad members. In this case, theres a hail of live rounds and nobody can know for sure theirs isn’t the one that did the killing. Guilt without necessarily having to hurt anyone, because you never know. Wally’s personality would have the desired effect.
As noted above, Flask is not here He dreamed of her, focusing anger and fear I think she knew nothing but Ally’s report And saw, when she met him, that he came up “short” But anger and fear will fill the next pages As he works things out and his conscience enrages He’s put on this raid, and conflicts are huge Will he fight? Or pull off some sly subterfuge? We know Wally’s clever; he’s improvised quick But he’s in a group; there no time for a trick Still, we’ve seen him determined, resourceful, and smart He’s brilliant in fact. So is Aaron’s art. =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum And don’t forget to vote for both For Ursa Major awards!
This is the part when I always put my hands over my eyes during a movie. This also. when the music goes silent and the tension is unbearable. I can’t look…tell me when it’s over. :o(
I think there’s more to this than just the obvious pain of killing the teacher (which we expect to happen at this point). My guess is that Wally does something far worse in a backlash response to the pain and that’s what messes him up so bad. Let’s see if Holly is tough enough to stand it.
When I saw the hands in 1 and 3, my first thought was of the Caine Mutiny and Capt. Queeg rolling the balls incessantly in his hands. A visible tic of a badly damaged personality.
I haen’t noticed the hand action until now. Has he been doing this the whole time of the trip up to TS? Agitation. Good word for it. I can almost feel his pain while watching him. You are really good at this Aaron. Keep it up……. Blessed Be.

So Wally kept the badge to never forget what happened.

Silhouettes are black again to represent the mood of events.

I’ve seen actions close to those of Apex in the third world. Blood on everyone’s hands does make it hard for fact finding missions after the fact.

Not much to say. This is going to be sad.
