Tears?Something seems to be bothering her. Deeply. We are in view of a TS hangout according to last Fridays artwork. Is she thinking for or against total distruction. It seems more likely she wants to say Yayaya, looky what I got and you don’t~~~THEN wipe them out. Yeah, that is my guess. Will AM arrive in time. He doesn’t know where the control room is therefore they don’t know him. She is the captain. OK. The ship will defend her. Thoughts roll on and none seem to be satisfactory.Blessed Be
For those of you who are interested and didn’t access GoComics over the weekend, the above picture is the artwork I commissioned with Aaron. I got it to the framer’s yesterday and should have it back in two weeks. With frame, it’ll be 29 inches tall by 26 inches wide.
Run, little ditto, run! Or whatever it is you do when you PZOW.Interesting…..picture of flaming destruction outside the door in panel 4. The past, or what’s to come? It also doesn’t appear as if the ships controls/computer are tied into the dittoes in any manner.
I don’t think so. I read this whole storyline from it’s beginning, but it was quite a while ago. I don’t remember the how or when of Flask though. All we really know is that she was once a TSer and apparently an engineer of sorts. Professor Mallard took her on as CHief of Endtown Security because of her TSer knowledge. We all came to figure out she had worked on the TSer rocket project that Flask, Petey, and Wally were sent out to destroy. . .and failed miserably. (Holly stowed away in Wally’s backpack.) TSOJ or DAD could probably tell you better than I.
In any case, we may just be getting to what a lot of readers have been wanting to get to: Flask’s Story. Flask’s crying in her beer is a good start [even if she ain’t got no beer!]
Hey everyone! If you can get to Philly in a couple of weeks, it’d be in your best interests to do so! Anthrocon is the weekend of the 14th, and both Aaron and Jenner will be there! I can’t get a full list of artists from the website, but I’m told that Bill Holbrook (On the Fastrack, Safe Havens, Kevin and Kell) will have a table, too. At a minimum, you could meet all three of them! At best, you could watch them draw all-original artwork for you at reasonable prices! (And you could take a group photo of the three of them to give to me as “thanks” for alerting you to such a great opportunity!)
Remember, Flask only has to breach the skin of the sealed city and let in the mutagens. Then people will turn into monsters. Maybe not all of them, but enough. What would Linda think of it, now that they have treated her the way they did?Once again, this is Aaron Neathery story telling at its very finest. WHO is the monster, here?
Anthrocon is in Pittsburgh, not Philly.Considering the AI was presumably created by Lucranians, I’m assuming it has Lucranian motivations and is heading toward the Topsider base not because Flask ordered it to, but because it intends to salvage the base.
I’ve got a sad notion: The ship’s comic “face” Is sensing emotion We’ve seen that some place The gentle accuser Of Flask’s inner pain We’ve seen in a cruiser With raw, stolen brain Though chances weren’t ample We’ve seen no robot mind Is this an example? Or a horror of some kind? =|====/ Level Head Vote for Endtown 2.0 And for Doc Rat, too The Endtown Forum Charter member of the Consortium to get Aaron a Tablet
Oh, I can sympathize, Sapph. But it helps to have an understanding of what made the character so bitter. It’s like I said about Marx a few days ago. The character can change and a writer can change our understanding of a character which is what, I think, is what will happen here.
Awww…I like that ditto collective. I think I’ll call him Starsky, unless Aaron overrules it.
C’mon Starsky, call Hutch and slow Blackie down.Didn’t A Marx spend time in Tibet? Could it be he really believes Flask cannot do anything because everything is illusion? Something about Maya and the Dance of Eight Veils.
Actually, Flask is probably thinking right now that this is the “pain” mutants feel after becoming mutants. The “pain” Topsiders mercifully end by vaporizing mutants on sight. If she were to die in a kamikaze attack on the TS dome, she’d be doing her duty to herself as a former Topsider by ending that pain now.
Hey, has anyone heard from Aaron this weekend? Haven’t seen him post and he didn’t answer my e-mail saying the artwork arrived safely. He’s always been very good about e-mailing back. Maybe he’s just out for the 3-day weekend?

Question is, “Is she conflicted enough to stop?” Hmmm, it was too late years ago….the start of Flask’s backstory?

Not so sure she was an engineer. . . she was leading raids, remember.

@surfstuff: Unfortunately, not me. I’m on vacation this week and someone already put in for the AnthroCon dates. I WILL make it next year though.

To me? Fear and hatred will always be the monsters.

hmm… now I wonder, are the dittos going to report flask, or are they going to decide they need to ‘help’ her?

The Dittos work for Marx, not the ship.
