    That sort of thing happens when people engage in any kind of strenuous exercise or team sport, and except for football head trauma there’s rarely any permanent damage. When I was 15 I broke both bones of my lower arm playing soccer but still finished the game, and I was a classic wimpy kid! Football is a problem but for the rest I can’t help but wonder if the kids are pushed harder than when I was growing up in the 50s and 60s. Otherwise I don’t understand why there is such a problem, and I did raise 2 active boys and helped with 2 active girls.

    In the 1950’s before baseball used helmets like we have today, I took a fastball to the head. I was knocked unconscious. The coaches I guess, because that was what I was told, put me under a shade tree and called my Dad. I never did go o a doctor for the concussion though I should have.
