Tree's Tree's nursery Ames says, "I'm forcing 2,000 peach tulips, 500 peach irises and a bank of peach azaleas." Maggie says, "Peachy, but?" Maggie says, "...If Twig hears about it, she'll want her own big fat sweet 16." Ames says, "Mums's the word." Twig says, "Mums are cheesy. I much prefer heirloom roses."

True story: when I was a teen (back in the Dark Ages), my buddy John’s parents owned a large nursery on the edge of town. He had a crush on this girl, found out when her birthday was, and had 200 long-stemmed roses delivered to her on her birthday. She was embarrassed and definitely NOT impressed.
