Both parties focus so much against the other they divide up the people of the country against each other allowing the two parties to sneakily not have to do their jobs.

I’ll bring the chips and dips for one and the little weenies on a toothpick for the other.

Two parties fighting to get a bigger piece of the pie, without trying to improve or increase the pie. Like jackals fighting over a dead animal.
