Last time I changed a tyre, I was on my way to a popular restaurant and the guy driving had never changed a tyre before. I was wearing white trousers (in my slim days)…… I was surprised to find that they only things that got dirty were my hands.
Though I have certainly changed tires in the past (with a couple of fun stories to accompany them), my current car has no spare tire at all. Just has one of those spray glue cartridges that plugs the hole and fills it with air. Not sure how I feel about that, but an expert I asked said the tires sold these days are much more reliable than in the past, and the cartridge really would take care of just about anything that comes along (tire-wise).
I made my children rotate the tires on the car they were ‘assigned’ before they ever drove it over 100 miles from home. My daughter has changed many tires for friends who would have used the above ‘skillset’ had she not been there. C.
Spare tires disappeared with the EPA Fuel Regulations in the 70s. The easiest way to improve fuel mileage was to lose weight. Lighter metals (more deadly accidents), no spare tires (call the tow truck), less seating. Remember the Bench Seat, front and back? A guy and girl could snuggle together as he drove.

I agree, why pay for AAA if you don’t use it
