Tied to the pier. The dock is the water next to the pier where you dock a boat.

Genius!

Or paddle up river for 40 minutes, then drift back enjoying the scenery for 20 minutes.

We’re just doing this for the exercise, right?

You could’ve paddled UPSTREAM and floated back to the dock…

" Paddle, paddle, paddle your boat, tied up to a pier/ Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily there is no reason to steer."

Makes sense to me.
