Noise: Crack! Crack. Crack! Pop! Elly: Were those YOUR bones cracking, or MINE?!! Connie: Have you noticed that your joints are stiffer these days, El? Elly: Oh, yeah! And my feet hurt when I get out of bed! Connie: Mmm. I had to get stronger glasses last month, and my shoulder's giving me trouble again! Elly: Tsk! I get a pain right here... And I don't think I'm hearing as well as I used to! Do you get heartburn? Connie: All the time!! I guess we'll have to get used to these things, El. This is what getting old is all about! Elly: I guess. But there's one thing I know for sure, Connie... We're not going to be the kind of people who sit around, drinking coffee and complaining about their health!
These characters are supposed to be in their mid-40s. In my 40s, I still felt pretty young and energetic.
However, in my 50s, now almost 60s I’m definitely more stiff when getting up. And the occasional heartburn. Definitely starting to feel the age.
