Lawrence: The people who started this company 30 years ago, are ready to retire. Nick and I think we can make them a good offer, become part owners and buy out their share over a period of time! Elly: Sounds good, Lawrence, but a venture like this means that you and Nick have to really trust each other. A business partnership is not unlike a marriage! Lawrence: I know. We're ready to make that committment.
I like how the language being used keeps us (well, me at least) wondering if this is just a business partnership with Nick or also a romantic one.
