There were hoop dancers and fancy dancers, and women in jingle dresses wearing hand-made moccasins. The men jumped and whirled...and, whenever an eagle feather fell, the dancing stopped. This meant that somewhere an elder or a veteran had died...their spirit was acknowledged and honored.
