This strip is really a soap-opera strip, but it’s established in genre of joke-a-day strips, so it needs a punchline. Often it can get one out the situation, which is part of why it’s a good strip. But if not … then it can always make a bad pun! ^_^

About 20 years before this particular strip, our band teacher taught us to always remember that a cummerbund is a “crumb catcher”! That’s how we knew which way the pleats were meant to go.
