I am officially stopping reading FBOFW today. “Women - They drive me crazy, Ted!” ? Come on! The new (old) version is an insipid and irrelevant flashback. So long Lynn. It was good while you had real characters and something to say - too bad you feel the need to go back to the 1970s.

so long Stellevoce! Wish more people would either stop reading this strip and commenting on it like it was about real people. I read it for what it is. The entertainment value as well as catching up with the past since I started reading when Farley came along.

Daviddeer - I agree, I just want to relax and enjoy the comics. Same as you, and I’m sure, Stellevoce also. But Stella has a point, what does this women comment have to do with anything? He should be glad her husband is getting a promotion. Instead he’s all selfish and pouty and bashing on her because she’s a woman and he’s inconvenienced? That just isnt right. John is supposed to be a nice guy. He better be careful or Jean will be looking for another job as well.

I think the humor is supposed to be that “women!” comments are usually made about the wife or girlfriend. Here, the comment is about an employee. The juxtaposition is further punctuated by Ted’s response.

I agree John is being selfish and that doesn’t seem like him.

Yes, Marie had a baby and her husband got a new job just to inconvenience John. Most of us are self-centered.

Double standards. If Elly comments to her gal pals about John it’s ok?

Lynn has announced at fborfw.com, that she is planning some new books that will follow the Patterson clan for a few more years into the future. You’ll have to buy them, of course.

Is John even 30 yet? Does anyone else remember what under 30 men are like????

Macushlalondra says: “I agree John is being selfish and that doesn’t seem like him.”   Considering that Johnston’s husband - the basis for John Patterson - recently dumped her for a younger woman - pretty much cleaning out the bank account(s) on his way out, i’m surprised that she could bring herself to use this one.   Incidentally - notice that Saturday’s strip is apparently new; i suspect that hse compressed a couple of days’ worth of continuity.
