dead-eye-bill, this logic is much like that of Lois Flagston–who will agree with her husband’s reasoning against doing something from “job jar” with the argument “well, I guess I don’t have to wash the dishes, floor or clothes–as they’ll all get dirty again anyway”.
Didn’t work in my family. The boys run around the house in knit shorts and tank tops, and sleep in them too. Didn’t seem like a battle worth fighting, especially with mom & dad sleeping nude.
I was a single mom with two preteen boys, and every night after their bath I would put them to bed in their clean clothes for the next day, to streamline the morning routine. Then my scum-of-an-ex-husband reported me to CPS for endangering their little lives, because children’s sleepwear is required to be nonflammable but regular clothes are not.
Valancy, with all due respect…that’s awful to make them sleep in their school clothes!! That had to be the most uncomfortable sleep for those poor boys. :((
My teen daughter will wear street clothes to bed and sleep clothes to school. My rule is that if you wear street clothes to bed that makes them night clothes and you can’t wear them out, she’s lost some favorite outfits. Do you want to pick this fight or not with the kids?? It’s hard to say, but a body learns that it is time to sleep by the help of routine and that includes what you wear to bed. Our schools here have pj day sometimes and I don’t let them wear their night clothes, they can wear sweats and a t-shirt. I hate seeing people wearing pj’s/slippers out to the store or at the airports (where I work). Is this really how you want to present yourself to the world today?

Not PA-jamas. PY-jamas. Every once in a while I’m reminded this strip is Canadian.

Py-jamas? I’ve recently moved to Canada but I haven’t heard that one yet.
Good reverse strategy there John!

Nuthin’ works better than learning natural consequences… (when the clothes begin to smell, Michael, you’ll lose a few friends too)

Johnny, you convince Michael to change his mind and then, he wants to change to his pyjamas! There he goes! Good job, Johnny! LOLs! X-D

I don’t bother my girls with what they’re wearing to bed. Whatever, just go to sleep already.

There seems to be a new trend of wearing pj bottoms out, in public. To me it looks sloppy, and shows laziness.
