Allan V said, about 9 hours ago@exturk They didn’t go TO-Vancouver, in the 80’s when this was written, they lived in “Lynn Lake Manitoba” so it was only 48 to 52 hours
psychlady – in the 1980’s there wasn’t “super saver economy” tickets, just “First Class, Economy, Berth, Cabin”. FC/B/C can could change their tickets for free, Economy had to pay a horrendous fee to change it. However, upgrading from Berth to Cabin will be expensive – probably another $200-$400 for each ticket.
My error – Toronto was mentioned so often I assumed Toronto. I always travelled coach, but knew first class was available. Coach and first class used to be offered also on the airlines, but the last flight I made (Dec 2010) it was all sardine class!

It’s the ‘little’ ones that make you wish you’d stayed home!

Yeah, suck it up, John. I think the whole family didn’t get a good night’s sleep. Get over it, you’ll get some rest now.

I’m sure the rest of trip will be better now, handing kids over to Grandparents and scheduling for a nice massage for both of them! :)

At least if John ended up paying for “roomettes” instead of “rooms” the trip cost him a lot less than if Elly had made the correct reservation.
