You’ve got it right, Michael! Your Mom would walk across Canada if she had to in order to get to you guys! ;)

It’s a pretty common leap that a very young child’s mind makes when someone who has been around all day every day of their lives is suddenly gone for a while. No moral needs to be assigned to the storyline.

Just when you’re ready to clobber them….

Completely common for children to construct “what-if” scenarios. Because children are so very reliant on parents, parental absence is always cause for a bit of anxiety. Which is why parents who tell their kids in stores “If you don’t get up, I’m just going to leave you” make me want to slap them.

It’s called “separation anxiety” and is extremely common in little kids.

Well to a 4 yr old a few days seems like an eternity.

Love how, despite her worry, Lizzie can’t resist squeezing out a big line of toothpaste, cause because.

Here’s my moral judgment: What a good Mom who can teach even a young child that he’s important and valued. So, much so he’s willing to share with his sister!

Michael’s hair in the last panel looks like he has a receding hair line. Guess that ’s a sign of “wisdom” in the older child. Lol!
