Lizzie must be starting to feel regret or something.

The easy part is getting them pierced. The annoying part is cleaning them.

My newly pierced ears had small, gold hoops in them. (well, small hoops on MY big earlobes, probably big hoops for others). I just put the alcohol on the hoops without taking them off, and ran them around through the entire ear a few times. Germs killed…no infection, ever. And believe me, you DON’T want an infection in these puppies!

My first grader wants her ears pierced this month. She is following this series. She will be an informed piercer, if she goes along with it!

I got my earlobe pricked prior to giving blood so they can test how much iron is in your blood. Even that hurts, so I can only imagine how much pain a piercing can be.

Can’t believe the painful piercing & tattoos youngsters have. My style is comfort first.

Well, I was told not to start the cleaning until the day AFTER the pcing was done. Given Hon’s question about the fact that the piercing was done that day, Elly shouldn’t have messed with them. Best thing would have been for Elly to brain Lizzie’s hair for bed that night so hair doesn’t wind around the earrings.

Backs do come off and the earring gets lost.

Don’t have pierced ears and hated clip-ons that always hurt and ended up in my purse instead of on my ears. Have some small screw-backs that I wore a lot before I retired.

I can’t even watch my wife put her earrings in. I do not like pain or holes that I wasn’t born with.

Mine were done using “sleepers” – spring-loaded hoops that pierced the lobe slowly over the course of a week or so. Worked great for me – not sure why they were discontinued.
