My Scotty wanted anything that she saw or thought that I was eating. I was chopping onion one day and dropped a piece, before I could get to it she had snatched it up and ate it! She wouldn’t have touched it if anyone else even offered it to her.
My cat will eat just about anything. I have seen him eat all sorts of veggies and even an olive. But his favorite is cheese. If I am slicing cheese for a sandwich, he’s right there trying to pull my arm down to his level for a snack.
It’s way too early. What you’re (mis)remembering is that Farley died while saving April (who was only three or four at the time) from drowning. Since April hasn’t even been born yet and won’t be for another couple of years, we’ve still got a long way to go before Farley meets his end.
This reminds me of when I was a kid, and my Grandma J would scratch-make these great buttermilk pancakes (I would eat 14 or 15 of ‘em when I was a teenager), and once in a while there would be a pancake or two left over. She fed the leftovers to our dog, Red, and after a while she started adding butter and syrup to the whole mess before putting it into the dog’s dish. After that started, Red would turn her nose up at any pancake coming her way that didn’t have butter and syrup on it.
Dogs are a subset of wolves, therefore carnivores.they should eat meat but can tolerate an omnivore diet probably because of their long association with humans.Cats are carnivore and need a high protein diet (meat, meat and more meat) I turn mine loose on the rabbit and squirrel population at night.Crap like spaghetti and olives and such are for your own amusement, and won’t do them any good in the long run.
I know, and avoided giving my dog unsuitable food, but she backed off from Vegemite as if it were actually poison. BTW, Laynegg, onion is toxic to dogs.

Figures. At least it wasn’t jam, jelly, marmalade, honey, or even Vegemite.

Admittedly, it is hard to enforce the no spoilers rule when Lynn Johnston has repeatedly touted some of her story arcs, such as Farley and Lawrence.
