Originally Elly was talking fund-raisers, but it appears that she has changed that tactic to trying to getting a friend to make the repairs and to convince the figure skaters and the junior hockey team to take the repair money out of their budget. If that was going to be Elly’s tactic, then she might want to consider talking to her dentist husband about a different subject like, “How do you feel about paying for part of a ice skating rink repair job?” I bet he would stay awake for that discussion.
It would have been really nice to see John saying instead, “What needs to be done, and I’ll help you.” That’s for real life. For funnies, you go just as Lynn wrote it. Just remember to do the “real life” scenario for your significant other.
I’ve noticed that – can’t sleep because of concerns. Then, I got to thinking – and started reliving one of my most PLEASANT experiences. Next thing – alarm, was ringing!

I hate to say how close to the truth this is. I’ve, on more than one occasion, fallen asleep listening to my wife’s litany of worries.

When you are “head” of something, act like the head of it. Assign your committee members to a task. (sorry, I’m in a preachy mood today)

Maybe John should have been the one to tell her about his day or what’s on his mind
