I can’t understand those portrayals of a blond, blue-eyed Jesus. He was Jewish and from Israel. In reality he was dark skinned (as in the southern Mediterranean or Mid East) with dark hair. And pretty dusty and desheveled from those long, hot, dusty walks in the desert. Portrayals I’ve seen of him in Catholic churches approach this realistic model, more so than in Protestant churches or in childrens’ Sunday school books.
