Jason: Dear Miss O'Malley, please excuse my son's runny nose, sore throat and fever, and allow him to remain in school today. Sincerely, Mrs. Fox. Miss O'Malley: Jason, will you stop forging notes and go home?! Jason: Can't I (cough) at least take (sniff) the math test?
My son loves going to school … when he said he was not feeling good enough to go, we KNEW he was really sick … he would rather go to school, then get days off for family outings … his cousins were taken out of school at a whim, for family vacations and other outings and always wondered why we did not do the same at times.
Of course, that’s not to say he always did his homework …
