We had a carry-in at a place I worked years ago. Someone brought in a cake that was very popular and the woman who baked it was asked for the recipe. She printed out copies and everyone saw that the main ingredient was 22 Milky Way bars. I don’t know of anyone who baked it afterward.
We live on a very long cul-de-sac with few houses. There are at most a half dozen kids of trick-or-treat age. Yet my wife buys about 10 pounds of candy (all the stuff we like). After Halloween I break these into small bags and freeze them. We might take one out every other week then. We are still eating Halloween candy in July.
So mom loves chocolate candy. For our house hard to judge how many we will receive. Chocolate is now safe from me. I can have Hershey’s Gold, so I do not want to get burned out I give time in-between. I wish candy makers come up with more variety as Hershey’s Gold is a great start. I cannot have white chocolate. Not even a hint of chocolate. As for Wednesday this year, there are churches has an evening service. there is a YMCA not far has a trunk or treat. We have a son has a birthday Saturday he came close to Halloween baby.
This Halloween is going to be a challenge as I have given up all sugar (real and artificial) for the first time in my life. Sigh. Hasn’t been as hard as I thought – until now.
