That looks like it’s only a 5 gallon tank, not nearly big enough. When I was a teen I had a 10 gallon, with the usual tropical fish, and always wanted a much larger tank. I got rid of it when I moved out and never got another aquarium.
My folks had a dog before they had me, so it was never an issue.
