SUNDAY PHANTOM: Looks like Sahara/Nomad stole the plane and has flown it to his retreat near Timbuktu. As I recall, the guy in panels 4 & 5 is an employee who was out by the runway with Sahara when he was leaving for Texas > Bangalla. Love the artwork…esp. panel 3!JUDGE PARKER: What does the female officer have in her hands in panel 2? And while I like how April looks amused in panel 6, I’m concerned about what the would-be assassin has in HER hand in the last panel (looks like a grenade to me). REX MORGAN: I’m paying attention to Rex’s words in panels 4 & 5 today. If Rex thinks something happened and Foster wanted Mabel to “pay,” then that’s no doubt the truth of the matter.FUNKY W: We go from basketball to literature…Fishmeal rhymes with Ismael. :-) I like Melville’s words about the “insular Tahiti” in chapter 58 (Moby Dick).
Apartment 3-G – Yawn.Funky Winkerbean – Moby Dick is the most boring novel ever written. The only reason it’s still on the shelves is because English teachers continue to require students to read it.Judge Parker – @Florchi – I think the lady cop is texting on her cell phone. In the last panel, I think it’s a knife!Mark Trail – Come to southeast Texas. I can show you some great places to see alligators.Prince Valiant – Weird!Rex Morgan – Sunday rehash.
Rex – Mabel thought he was drinking again, but was he?Teh made a good suggestion yesterday that Foster’s disagreement with Mabel may have been related to his estrangement from iris. He might have found out that Mabel drove Iris away.Judge – This can’t end by letting the hired assassin go.
PHANTOM: The new Sunday artist is doing a good job. Does anyone know who he is and what he has done before. This strip seems to get top-notch artists quickly. The previous one only stayed a few months, but his panels were excellent as well as his drawings. What happened to him?
@ Arye Uygur – I saw that you accepted my friend request! my avatar is a picture of my daughter eating an apple. my initials are MB, Teh is my nickname.
Thanks Florchi for the links. The Phantom continues to be one of the consistently best drawn strips and the plots are entertaining. I still like the panels of the artist just previous to the current one (Terry Beatty). Also his strong lines.

MARY WORTH: So even Nola, with all her wealth and all her apartments (?apartmentS?!), looks for sales.
REX MORGAN: Can Rex resolve what went on in a man’s mind after he is dead?
