I was just reading that the evangelists are losing an entire generation of young people who can’t tolerate their political hypocrisy…

This is one of the reasons I am no longer a Catholic: the sect seems more interested in form rather than substance. It was a good run and they taught me great theology, but what good is faith if you can’t use it? Maybe Catholicism is the wrong faith for engineers.

Catholicism doesn’t stand alone in Christian sects that believe that revelation stopped with John of Patmos.

I believe in the Gospel according to Billy Joel, “We didn’t light the fire … it goes on and on and on.”

Young people are leaving all churches. They don’t need doctrine, and they certainly don’t want institutional maneuvering for self-preservation. What they need is a church that witnesses to God’s transcendent love for the hurting and the marginalized— in actions more than in words.
