Caulfield: There's this new education study that has my undies bunched. It says all kids, look at as a unit, appear pretty much average. Frazz: Isn't that the definition of average? Caulfield: Exactly! Frazz: You're upset by this? Caulfield: No. I'm upset because other people are upset. Frazz: How very empathetic. Caulfield: Don't you get it? All these angry idiots are grown-ups! It's all downhill from here! I'm eight years old and mentally I've peaked! Frazz: Already? When? Caulfield: Just before I decided all adults, look at as a unit, appear well below average.
I wish I could disagree with Caulfield here. As Bob Dobbs says in The Book of the SubGenius, “You know how dumb the average guy is; by definition half of them are even worse.” I truly wish that statement didn’t explain so much
