I kinda remembered that Mr. Uhrmann used to be African-American, so I did some research. See strip of 9/19/11. (Or, I’ll save you the trouble of looking it up. He indeed was.)

I don’t think Jef colors the dailies. It may have been an error on the colorist’s part.

This is one of those strips where (if you think about it too much) the peculiarities of comic strip time come into play—Caulfield apparently already knows he’ll be back in Mrs. Olsen’s class come fall, repeating the same year of school yet again. At the same time, he seems to know that he will grow up, finish school, etc., some day. Disturbing, if you think about it…

Is this a year-round school? Schools here have been out for weeks.

As stated in strips over the last couple weeks. They had to go longer to make up missed school days because of snow.

The school doesn’t get paid if they don’t have x number of days. They imagine some absurd relationship between time put in and results. Besides, if it is inverse they don’t want it revealed.

Someone put a tack on our 5th grade teacher’s chair on the last afternoon before summer vacation. We had to stay after school.

I’ve seen the reverse color shift in weekday “Curtis.”

I saw a Golden Girls episode where Blanche tells Dorothy that the comic she is interested in reading, Mary Worth, is still on the same week. Funny.
