Girl: I need some bagpipes.
Frazz: That's new. Why bagpipes?
Girl: Because it sounds less standoffish that saying I could use some alone time.
Frazz: Probably more effective, too.
I like that kid in the extreme foreground in Panel 1 who’s effectively part of the background but obviously engaging in some activity not relevant to the main conversation. Nice scenic composition.
One of Robert Heinlein’s characters described bagpipes as looking and sounding like a man with a cat under his arm with the tail in his mouth. BTW, I love pipes too; if you love both pipes and rock and roll check out ‘Celtica Pipes’ live medley of ‘Scotland the Brave’ and ‘Smoke On the Water’; also the band ‘Red Hot Chili Pipers’ (no, really).

Try substituting a cat for a bagpipe and it won’t be the cat that makes the ear-splitting noise.

Bad timing, being just before Burns night!

“That man is wrestling a small plaid cow.” Though, being of Scottish descent, I like the sound of well-played pipes ;)

It could also make you famous, if you added another skill to go with it.

Ask a question and see what the kid will say. Simple, almost child’s play…

Hubby didn’t want a bagpipe, just the chanter pipe(s) to practice with.

Ha—works for me! Let’s just say the rest of the world can have all of my bagpipes they want.
Made me chuckle.
