Was that just a random date or did Michigan get hit with it too? My dad flew in that night. It was . . bad. I think they ended up taking a bus rather than the final leg of the flight into Elmira.
This one really hurts, Jef. “Grandpa” omg. I was in Providence RI for that one, 38" of snow and the city was shut down for like a week. I95 was so blocked up tow trucks had to clear the highway by working their way in from out of town. Nothing like walking on the snow on a city street, looking down and seeing a car antenna (and nothing else of the car) sticking up next to your feet. South of Buffalo just got twice that much and I can’t even.

I remember the Blizzard of 78 too- Indiana. Spent over 1 month on farm before bulldozer opened roads.
