He’s dog tired.

So much to do!

Poor Fred! Of course, of course. We all know days like that. What you need now is a longish nap on this armchair. We do hope that your Mr. Dear won’t come in and shoo you off of it. I am sure you will get a nice belly rub after your dinner. Sleep well, have pleasant dreams and you will see: tomorrow is a completely fresh day. See you, Fred.

Fred may have thought he was aging in Alec Graham’s time but the strip continued for more than thirty years after Alec died.

I have a question: in the first panel- why is “it” written it? Does that mean something special, gives the sentence a certain twist? (Sorry, can not find better words)
