My dad was the same when my mother went anywhere. She Once went to her sister’s for a couple of weeks and while she was gone dad and I painted the spare room. We had the radio on and were listening to the Golden Hour show where they played music from yesteryear. The song came on Aint No sunshine When She’s Gone by Bill Withers. Dad looked at me and said " that song could have been written for me and the way I feel right now because when your mother’s not here there’s no sunshine in my life."
My Spousal Unit and I feel the same way about one another – when we are parted, neither of us feels quite complete. I used to travel quite a bit for my job, and I could always hear it in his voice when I called each evening. I felt just the same when he went to visit his family back home, too; the house just feels so empty when someone is missing.
One of our two is VERY MUCH my husband’s dog. So much so that when he leaves the house that poor dog sits and stares at me, asking me why did I make him leave and when will he come back. Too pitiful.

Mrs. D just has her special way of pouring your kibble doesn’t she? The place just seems so empty without mom.

You miss her more for what she does, right, Mr. Dear? It’s good for the man to be alone for a day or so to really appreciate his wife!

Sweet – he really does love her, even though he rarely shows it.

Wow, if you take away Fred’s first thought bubble, it becomes a really sad strip.
