I set my default ring tone to “silent” and assigned an audible ring tone to everyone in my contact list. I never even hear the telemarketers/scammers’ call ring. If it is important, they can leave a message, but they seldom do. I only have to block the ones that leave a message more than once.

If I don’t recognize the number, I don’t answer the call.

I did that for awhile until I realized they were using other people’s numbers to make the calls look legit. The change daily.

I answer an unknown number only if (1) it isn’t local, Egyptian, or from “United States” and (2) I see that I got a call from the same number before.
