I’m glad the point was made here. I have little relatives who are having the life scheduled out of them. Possibly even their mental and emotional health. REALLY not funny! Down time for getting oneself back together (also called reflection, mental health time, healing time, etc., etc.) is essential to good human mental and emotional operation.

My mother did that to me one summer. I somehow lost all my writing paper and forgot everything I did the minute I got back home. The next summer she sent me to my dad. I learned how to drive a car and fly a single engine airplane and went back the next summer to get my licenses for both and work on my multi-engine ticket.

Everything if he isn’t interested in any of those things. I am fortunate that my poor mother had no time to force me to do anything. So I spent summers at the library.

I thought this family was almost bankrupt. Where she finds the money for all those activities? They don’t come cheap.

Sigh… sure wish I had been scheduled with some activities like that to give my Summers some structure. So much potential wasted…
