I had a girlfriend who was a really great person – but not really technical or mathematical at all. I on the other hand tend to think about that sort of stuff all the time. One day at lunch I had a particular idea that really excited me – and she patiently listened to my going on about it through the majority of lunch, in a really nice way. At the end of lunch when the bill came she slid it over to me with the comment, “you owe me for this one.”
