My great-grandmother made fruitcakes. We all pitched in. My grandmother would drive to the store for supplies. My mom would cut the candied fruit to just the right proportions. I would like the beaters and the bowls. Good times.
I have always liked fruitcake. My mom used to make them & they were always “seasoned” (brandy), unlike today’s cakes. Maybe that’s the problem, hmmm? And, good for you for baking your own!!!
And I’m always wondering if Jim (who is in his old-age) still draws the strip or someone else, because US Ancers sayd Brett K. on it and the latest actual Garfield books say who illustrated it and Mr. Davis was not listed.
