Exactly how does Jon expect a cat (and Garfield at that!) to help around the house? All I can think of in terms of Garfield “helping” are: scratch the furniture, raid the kitchen / refrigerator, annoy the neighbourhood dogs, torture Odie, eat Jon out of house and home, etc. The safest bet Jon has is to let him sleep for as long as he likes.
