Our cat likes tuna water. My daughter has a golden retriever female which likes anything she can eat; although there are some things she doesn’t like. So our cat gets first rights on tuna water. We keep the dog to dog food.
I used to take a small piece of liver and poke a hole in it. I then pushed the pill into the hole and offered it to the cat. He loved raw liver so much he would gulp it down without chewing.
The only other way I’ve been successful in pilling a cat is to open the mouth, place the pill on the back of the tongue and then hold the mouth closed and gently stroke the throat until the cat swallows. I follow up with favorite treats immediately. My cats have fortunately been a pretty healthy lot, so this has not been necessary very often.
Give th’ fool cat a sip from th’ fool jug.
JanCinVV, you managed that with all four claws trying to rip the flesh off your arms at the same time? We used to warn the dog to “stay away from the pointy end of the kitty”, which was any end of the kitty facing the dog.

That’s right, grind it into her food. She won’t swallow it any other way.

Axe: maybe that’s how they get so many lives. They are dead and alive at the same time.

It’s really hard to choke a horse unless you have unusually large hands.
