I agree-this IS painful and idiotic. The salesman is obviously a ripoff of that “Wellllll” guy from the Jack Benny show, which passed for funny, oh, fifty years ago. Other than that, yeah, laundromat.

I think you mean the “EEE-Yessss” man from Jack Benny, which would be Frank Nelson.

Go to a tropical spot, Skeezix, and pack just your swimsuits.

Borrow time on the washer and drier of, say, Hope & Corky, Judy & Gideon, Clovia & Slim, Gretchen, of Amy & Chipper.

I do not think it was a good idea to tell this sleazy salesman that they are going on vacation…. I could forsee a potential robbery or some such thing developing. If they realize their horrible mistake in telling this information…. their best bet IMHO would be for them to a) go to a laundromat to wash their clothes for their vacation, and b) hire Joel and Rufus to house sit while they are on vacation! That would be a wonderfully fun twist to the story line. I am sure that no robber would be a match for the dynamic duo of Joel and Rufus! I sure hope this is what Jim has in mind for us!!! It could be a wonderful laugh riot!

In any store I’ve ever shopped in, this salesman would be history.

If Gasoline Alley doesn’t have a laundromat, Skeezix and Nina have FAMILY. Take the laundry to someone’s house and use the washer and dryer there.

I’d tell the guy forget it, I’ll shop somewhere else.

This is private enterprise at its best. No #$%^& guvrnmunt here.
