Elam’s got that slimy ‘hired-hand’ feel going on – Claude Akins portrayed such characters, also – in Bonanza I know, and other shows, I’m sure.
That said, yup – I think a rock on a ring is in the hand…
I saw Jack Elan in a Death Valley Days episode from the late 50s or early 60s. He played the lead, a good guy. Would not have recognized the name except for GA.
