I remember these characters. Astro was this big, hulking Venusian colonist. Roger Manning was the trouble maker, always dealing with his own person issues. Astro was the engineer. Manning was navigator/communications. Corbet was the Captain-Cadet in charge of flight operations and command. Captain Steve Strong was their supervisor.
I used to love Tom Corbett. I watched it faithfully every Saturday morning. Later I started with the books. I collected them and Tom Swift Jr. too. But the Tom Corbett books were way better than the Tom Swift Jr. books. I still have them by the way. Thinking of selling them on eBay.
While Joel is ‘enjoying’ old science fiction TV shows, there’s even more history associated with Gasoline Alley. Perhaps some readers are interested in this, and I’m sure there are others who will give it a pass.
