State law said that liquor stores must be independently owned and closed on Sundays. Blockbuster was across the street and in a different state and had too much floorspace. The chain grocery store bought Blockbuster and moved it across State Line Street into the smaller local liquor store. They moved the liquor store across State Line street so it could be open Sunday and corporate owned and enlarged the floor space to a medium sized grocery store.
