I miss the serenity of Bob Ross, too, R.I.P. Bob. I’m sure he’s painting happy little trees in heaven.

Between Bob Ross and Mr. Rogers, PBS was my corner of Zen.

Darn it, you made me laugh again.

I remember the guy, he had an afro.i failed at painting watching his videos. I could never make happy trees…they were all chronically depressed trees

“And behind this happy little rock is where I keep my happy little weed…”

Oh yeah! :)

Painting with that guy was the answer to the question: Where do you go when you’ve mastered paint-by-number?

Hilarious! We thought we were the only ones that watched The Joy of Painting now called The Best Joy of Painting. Still carried on PBS in Memphis, TN. The beating of the brush and everything happy. RIP Bob Ross. Thank you Darby Conley.

Used to be a DJ in these parts who once (at least a decade or more ago) did a job on ol’ Bob by muttering, to the accompaniment of insistent tapping (supposed to be a fan brush or palette knife on canvas, of course), “We don’t make mistakes…we have happy, little accidents…Oops, a little too much titanium white there…happy, little accidents…so we’ll just make a happy, little snowdrift…right here…on top of this car…”
