Ugh, another IKEA reference in the funny pages within the last month. For the record, IKEA is really Dante’s 9th circle. If you’ve never shopped there, believe me, you get stuck in an endless loop along with the other retail drones. The only thing waiting for you at the end is Swedish meatballs and lingonberries.
West Side Story already references Buick in the song “America” (I’ll take a Buick to San Juan…). I prefer diarrhea to Ikea any day, so I’ll stand behind my lyrics from yesterday. That was prescient, given today, but of course I knew that in advance :)
A show called “Reel Blondes” (and it’s successor, “Wigged Out”) did a song of this. The show made puns of pop songs from the past and present as it loosely told a story. Every year was different.

The theme song shall be “My Ikea” sung to the tune of “My Sharona” with driving guitar riffs and very, very questionable lyrics.
