I was born in Boston in the 50s. I endured the 60s, 70s and the humiliation of the 80s. There was a time the Pats had the #1 pass defense, only because no one ever HAD to pass against them. So, I will enjoy the last decade without guilt.

Didn’t the Celtics do the same thing the following year?

The Mets won the World Series in 1969. So stranger things have indeed happened.

With the degree to which professional sports are fixed these days, I’m surprised the Patriots haven’t won the World Series.
