This one was startlingly prescient – Bucky, and avowed Republican, kowtows to the not-so-hidden Soviet machinery that still powers Russian politics. Fast-froward twelve years and … huh.
The latest Russian hit would be “Call me President. No, call me Prime Minister”. Putin bounces between the two positions and their power are “legally” shifted accordingly.
Actually, it’s “Гарри Поттер”—“Garry Potter”. (There is no H in Russian, G is substituted in foreign words, like Shakespeare’s “Gamlet”.) “Pyotr” is tempting, but it’s Russian for “Peter”.
It’s just like I mentioned in another comic section. Why get bent out of shape over a comic strip? It’s only entertainment and the way an artist views things. And if the strip bothers one that much then don’t read it! Me personally, I neither like it nor dislike it. I just read. And as I posted before, it centers around a lonely bachelor who finds contentment with his pets however he chooses. Many people who pets have some of imaginary lifestyle with.
