This is a dog, not a ferret…
His name is Jurgen Döggen …
He’s a Swiss Alsatian…. another friend of Satchel’s, which is why Satchel gave him the peanut brittle… not knowing it was a trick can.
Filthy Frazier is bigger and crazier, and once attacked Rob.
And Jurgen’s not illiterate or ignorant, like Larry the Croc… he merely isn’t a native English speaker… and has a heavy foreign accent.
I don’t remember, if I ever knew, which language he speaks… and no, not “Swiss”… LOL.
Probably German, French, or Italian….but knowing how Darby likes the esoteric, possibly Romansh.
I feel sorry for immigrants, when people think they’re ignorant just because of their accents.
The ferrets are smaller, and Fungo is mostly white…
I think he has black on his muzzle… gotta look him up again.
though some characters in this strip have changed colors over the years of re-runs, probably due to different colorists.
Like Mac Manc McManx… who has been white, partly yellow, and all yellow.
In any case, Fungo is very literate and well spoken.
HTH
