P1-2: Silly Bryce, everybody knows Milford’s gonna blow it in the 9th somehow. Plus, it’s Valley Tech, Milford’s hated rival. It would be fitting for them to take away yet another chance at those playdowns(offs[ins{outs}]) Milford keeps striving for, yet for some odd reason, they haven’t been able to go to.

P3:

Indiana Ohio Michigan Minnesota Wisconsin Iowa Missouri Kentucky Western Pennsylvania

Take a guess as to where Milford is now.

Err? Milford won a state baseball championship just a few years back, and came within one out of defending their title the next season.

High school baseball is only 7 innings.

There is a slim chance and long shot they make it 400 miles without a mishap. is Cassie riding shotgun!?

400 miles in a van = accident waiting to happen. Derek will get hurt and not be able to pitch.

Milford is in the same state that the Simpson’s Springfield is. Valley Tech might be a Shelbyville school.

We have a Milford here in CT, too, but it doesn’t FEEL like the Gil Thorp Milford. And in all the years of following Thorpians, I’ve never seen any eating lobster rolls. Is it too much to ask that the band do well AND Milford do well, even without Slim (unless the bus breaks down) in the playsomethings? How will Cassie figure in?

P2 – with those freakishly long fingers, I wonder how many baseballs Slim can hold in each hand?

The guy in pane 2 should cover his mouth when he coughs! Three loogies on the way.

i predict Cassie will talk Derek into returning for the game…based on the bad experience she had when she abandoned her team.

Cassie’s in the back of the van with Tuck rolling doobies and chillin’….

‘tis a mystery where this story line is going. If Derek plays the gig, he lets the team down. On the other hand, if he forces the van to turn around to play with the team, he lets the band down. My guess, based on Gil’s comment that BYTF are baseball fans, is that when Derek gets to the gig, BYTF will find out about the situation they have unknowingly put him in, and they will have their private jet fly him back to Milford just in time to save the championship game. Then Derek will shove his mitt down Bryce’s throat and take Cassie out for some barbecue. I love happy endings.

Derek is tripping balls in P2. Guess he’s just following in the footsteps of Jim Morrison.

The concert is Friday, and Charles is the starter for the Friday game. Derek is scheduled to start the Saturday game, and can be excused from the Friday game. If something were to happen to Charles and they would need Derek to step in, who would pitch Saturday anyhow?
