Also, they should have been 20 yards closer – offsides plus personal foul. Of course with Milford’s offense 3 plays for -5 yards is normal.
Disappointed to see that the final outcome was Brody kicking a last second field goal to win the last game, as everyone expected 3 months ago when this story line started.
But wait… The VT coach files a protest alleging Brody has an unfair advantage due to Special Needs help he receives for Aspergers. Taking a page from the NFL coaches who objected to Tom Dempsey’s advantage of having only half a kicking foot and the blunt front shoe. This will result in a proposed new league rule prohibiting Special Needs kids from playing, similar to the 1977 NFL rule requiring a “normal” shoe be worn by all kickers. Gilboy and Kaz will rally aginst the rule and create an “Occupy Milford” movement to fight the rule. O.K., it’s basketball season. Can Brody shoot threes, or maybe 100% from the free thrown line? Can My Bobby play 5 minutes without fouling out? Will W.C. and Marty discover each other in rehab? Or outside of rehab? Will ESPN release a tape of W.C.‘s wife’s phone conversations? Inquirin’ minds want to know.
Before becoming a high school football player, #25 from VT lived for many years as a monk in a secret monastery in Tibet. There, he mastered many sacred and mysterious arts, including the ability to heal Asperber’s by touch.
Talk about unconventional — Brody is still kicking straight-ahead, like Lou Groza, Jim Bakken, etc. — and he’s doing it with a normal shoe rather than square-toed. It’s a miracle he can hit anything.
If it’s a dead ball foul, both could be assessed, but the ref would have needed to blow the whistle for incroachment. Waiting to find out in Brody is also a free throw/3 PT savant BB season approaches.
Umm, jumping offsides doesn’t mean that you can’t have another penalty. Once you’re offsides that means you have liberty to cheap shot other players? In fact, I just remembered the OSU-UM game last week. UM scored, but it was negated by a holding call, and they also called a late hit after the whistle. They marched off 25 yards. Same deal as we saw here. It’s not roughing the kicker, it’s a straight personal foul. And Gil should be livid! Plus the player should have been ejected.
Yeah, I’ve seen a fifteen yarder on a vicious hit out of bounds, and then a second on a totally out of control high school coach who flipped out and screamed spray at an official. Thirty yards and a player ejection. Also saw a famous college coach, now a studio comentator, pick up a flag thrown for holding on a long punt return, hold it out to the official, and when he reached for it, tossed it on the ground a couple of yards off to the side. The official ccalmly walked over and picked it up, paused a second, and then threw it at the coach’s feet. Fifteen additional yards were assessed.

Where’s MyBobby? He must heave held the O-Line together for all the kicks. Amazing adjustment for Abro – The Gilfather is a miracle worker. Nice win.

Whoever said the hit cured his Asperger’s apparently was right. “He doesn’t like to be touched.” “It’s football, let’s go.”

Looks like Deke’s defense should get the credit?

The hit dished out by the Tech player caused Gil’s eye to pop in P1.
Why are the players spaced randomly on the filed in P2 . . . looks like pregame warmups.
Waiting for the obligatory pannel of Wildcat passed out at home drooling with an empty bottle of whiskey in his hand.
Still waiting for the shot of Mimi in those Ugg boots and skinny jeans at the football game.

Wait … Brody last-second field goal … game! … even though we knew this 3 months ago, I must enjoy this moment!

Is Brody a freshman? Will we see him kick the championship game winner before he graduates?

You can’t accept multiple penalties. It’s either the 5 yard off sides or the 15 yard personal foul for roughing.
Still, 3 more downs and not a single extra yard? That’s pretty pathetic.

Brody joins the team at game 8 or 9 and get the “coveted” #7 as his jersey number…that’s a bit surprising.

Actually it would have been two penalties, a live ball offsides and a dead ball personal foul=20 yards closer.

If teachers were paid for performance, no doubt Wildcat would be the one deciding the rewards.

Next season, all eleven of Gil’s starters on offense AND on defense will have Asperger’s. These kids can play!

Shouldn’t Gil be a little more outraged about the cheap shot? He’s really taking it calmly.

Bootin’ Brody wins it for the Mudlarks!

Why would it be a dead-ball personal foul? Milford gets 15, not 20.
