That was actually my second wife’s plan. Well, not really, but she went back to school at the age of 65 and got a master’s degree at the age of 78. She practices as a psychotherapist for a couple of years before contracting ALS. Her $78,000 in student loads were forgiven. She joked at the time: “Between that and the handicapped parking placard, it’s almost worth it.” She died three years later. I miss that sense of humor.
