My mom was at a bank when the person she was with accidentally dialed 9-1-1. He was supposed to dial 9-1-4. (9 for an outside line, 1 for long distance, 4 was the first number of the area code.) he tried to convince the dispatcher that it was ok, it was an accident. She kept telling him that they were a bank, the police had to come. As he insisted, she ended up treating him like a small child who wasn’t understanding. The police came, lots of them and saw it was a mistake. Quite the scene. He never lived it down.
